“The Killing of a Sacred Deer,” by visionary director Yorgos Lanthimos, shared the Best Screenplay award at Cannes, where it premiered earlier this year. Lanthimos’ unique and hypnotic style turns the story of a seemingly affluent American suburban family into a dark nightmare, as a menacing stranger enters their world.
