Your review of “Kick-Ass” was very brave. As father of a 11 and 13 year olds, I really appreciate your perspective, and I now don’t feel so isolated in my views towards violence in movies. I watched the red band trailer and was really upset. My daughter fights depression every day, as do an estimated 20% of US teens — she is a self injurer — and I continue to be appalled at the lack of compassion the entertainment industry shows by continuing to make such violent movies involving or appealing to young people and there impact on depression and triggers for self injurious behavior.
Thank you for the sole voice of sanity I have heard.
